S&L Spindles will not warranty any products that are not protected from sun or rain with weather resistant stain, clear coat, or paint.

Your new lamp posts, wooden decks, or any wood decking applications should be painted or stained to protect the wood from UV sun damage and moisture damage. This will help to protect your deck from weather damage including discoloring and cracking. S&L Spindles suggests that you use a high quality water or oil based paint or stain. We’ve seen Defy Wood Stain by SaverSystems used on our products with outstanding results. Plus, it’s environmentally friendly as well as user friendly, as it is a water based stain.
